Hey Chuck I just got your message(we're still on the ride home from NMCA). Did you try using your other set of keys? Maybe the battery is dead in the other fob and its not disarming the starter kill.

Re: car won't start
I had that happen to me a couple of years ago I could open and unlock the car. But when I went to start it, it would start then as soon I left go of the key it would shut off. The security system had to be replaced. I hope that this is not the case for you unless you are still under warranty.

So what are they saying caused it? The tune? did you do anything with the battery lately? Jump start someone's car? Or tractor/4x4?

Re: car won't start
They did say they can't tell if the car was tuned because they couldn't read pcm.RTCHAS wrote:Orangepeel815 wrote:PCM controller was shorted out going to take 2weeks but they r fighting me on the warranty

So you lost the tune? Is it fixed yet? How much is that going to cost? My 3/36 is going to run out soon this could cause me to extend anyone else heard of it going bad? Are they going to cover it?

i never heard of pcm going bad. i got 81,000 + miles, took to track, and run the car good at times, and have almost the same mods as chuck other than the 268 cam & 85mm tb, and no problems....knock on wood! dont want jinx myself. the question is what caused the short and then in turn to fry the pcm?
im assuming that if pcm is gone, so is the tune.

Re: car won't start
When I got up this morning my power was out . I put a power converter in the cig lighter and in blew the fuse. I had the car running at the time, turned it off. Went to start it back up and nothing had the roadside service come out to jump it nothing. Right now I am waiting for the tow truck to come. Funny when I turn my key on I can hear the solenoid on the TB clicking never heard that before.

That sux Charles, these new cars are not as forgiving as older pre computer controlled stuff the Jump start is a bad idea it can fry the Altenator's or other sensitive stuff same with the cig lighter if it's more then cell phone charger I would keep it out of there. good luck hope it's easy fix.

Re: car won't start
Well being the brain that I am (NOT) when I was checking the fuses. I evidently pulled the starter fuse and put it back in the wrong slot. Now I fell like a dumb a***, it's running now. As I was looking at the fuse chart I notice that the book was calling for 20 amp fuse for slot 14 PCM and slot 15 injectors, ignition coils and slot 16 is empty and is another PCM slot to have a 20 amp fuse. But it came with 25 amp fuses in slots 14/15. I will ask the dealer about this next week.

Re: car won't start
No I did the fix myself I'm glad I found it and canceled the tow truck. I just had the front repainted and don't need it messed up form a tow truck.
On a side note I gave Bill a call last night to see how he was doing. He is still working and trying to get his eyes back to normal he said he was going to get back on the forum. It was nice to talk to him about the forum and him, looking forward to see some post from Bill.

good to hear the car is back & running.....2 club cars shorted out in 1 week would be too much to handle and making me jumpy

Re: car won't start
This is the first I've heard of one going bad. However, the original backup and HHP tune should still be on the diablosport, so he shouldn't have trouble reloading it later.
I wouldn't spend a Sh!tload of money to extend the warranty just in case this happens.
