Batteries? Empty Batteries?

Post by sgt tunez Fri May 10, 2013 12:02 am

So I finally had to replace my original factory battery due to all of the electronics I recently added. I added a secondary battery, a red top because of how many shows I do. Well, my car died at a show the other day and all I had on were my Halos and the door and trunk were open, system was not turned on. I don't think the shop installed the second battery correctly. I may have to go see them. Good thing I carry jump cables! Anyone else have a system?

I am a old man from the 70's, these new systems have me totally confused, but i do want to upgrade my OEM speakers, just don't know if i want to go with subs and amps, I was told on other forums if i go with 1 amp 1 battery would be fine but with 2 amps i should get a second battery.

You need an isolator installed between your 2 batteries so your audio and main system battery are seperate unless you are charging them. I run a Deka for my system battery and a marine dry cell for the audio. Also upgraded the alternator so i can charge the marine batt in minimal time. Tunez, you know what I have..

I've seen yours. I definitely need to look into an isolator and a new alternator. I have two 12" subs, two amps and the monitor and Xbox. My Xbox is able to be removed though. Have you seen mine since I got it done?
