Re: New look...
Wow they look awesome! How easy is it to apply and how long did that take? My chrome clads would look awesome like that but I would hope it comes off very clean with no damage to the actual wheel
Re: New look...
very easy to apply and is pretty forgiving. It would be really easy to apply on the chrome clads since they're just a simple five spoke design. It was a little difficult to get in between the spokes on mine.
I just pulled the wheels off, scrubbed and cleaned front and back and let them air dry in the sun. My wheels didn't really have any blemishes so there wasn't any prep. I just used index cards to block overspray from hitting the tires.
I started with one light coat, and got progressively heavier on each additional coat. I would lay it on as heavy as you can without runs to ensure a super smooth surface, but it still looks great if you stick with light coats. I put 4 or 5 coats on the front, and 2 on the back.
It should just peel off without harming the finish underneath. There are plenty of pics and videos of people that have removed it without issue.

Re: New look...
So the plasti-dip finally started peeling in couple spots, mostly in the lugholes. It also started pulling away where the spokes come together near the center of the wheel. I tried to trim some of it so I could respray those areas, but it wasn't working so I peeled them all. Here is a video of how easy it was to remove....
I really liked the look of the flat black, so I think I'll go that route with my next set of wheels.
