HHP Stage 2 Install !
HHP Stage 2 Install !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On started a new thread I have a 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 Steel Blue. Here is the story of my HHP stage 2 install. I showed up at HHP on Tuesday and since they said I could hang around and check out the install thats what I did. The plan was to pull out the motor on Tuesday start to put it back in and finishing up on Wednesday in the afternoon then off to the Dyno.
So I show up in Tuesday and they were finishing up on a 09 Challenger it started off just a stage 2 but I guess the guy won the lottery overnight as once they finished the stage 2 on Monday the guy called up and asked for a supercharger lol. So this kind of pushed my car back so that they could finish up the challenger lol. Anyway I took off and came back at around 2PM. To my surprise this is what I found when I got there:
These guys move fast!! So I asked if I could come and hang out Wednesday and they said yes so I was there first thing at 8:30 AM. When I got there this is what I found:
I am telling you these guys don't play! Before they left for the day they installed the Stage 2R cam, the converter and the SLP Pulley. Anyway I asked if I could help and they were so cool in letting me feel like was not there tool B*&tch lol. They let me take the headers off of the old heads and reinstall them on the new ones and they let me take off the parts on the old intake manifold and put them on the new one. And I watched them watch me carefully and check out my work without making me feel like a tool lol. Great guys for sure!!! Anyway by 11:00 AM we were done!!!:
Here are some picks of the install first were heads then intake then exhaust.
And The REAL HIDDEN MECHANIC'S BEHIND HHP TRACY AND STEVE!!!
The plan was after lunch to hit the Dyno the problem was that the Dyno was being used so now I wait until 9 AM tomorrow. Josh did put on a nasty street tune so I got to drive around and play a little. First impression is the car is a hell of lot faster!! Tires break lose like crazy!! Oh did I say the tries break lose like crazy!!! I now have to relearn the car and buy some tires that stick more lol! Can't wait to see the numbers tomorrow on the Dyno and if no rain on Saturday I will be at the track to see what it can do in the 1/4 mile!!! Tomorrow I will post the Dyno numbers and more pictures. Bottom line is I am very impressed with all the people at HHP. They treat you like family its as if they have known you for years!

It looks like you gained roughly 100hp at the crank(15% loss through the drivetrain). With some sticky tires and some better axles you should have no problem getting into the 11's.

That's right brother....as long as your taking out SC's you're good to go. I love to hear about an NA engine beating a "power adder".

Wow - based on that , I guess I should reconsider my plans of popping in a SC. Just curious - why the Super Charger disdain?

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
No disdain for the super charger cars at all. But I beleve that an all motor car is the best way to go for the money! I feel in order to do the supercharger right you must forge the bottom end to get the most out of the supercharger and to do that now you are talking some money but the difference it 5 to6 psi verses 14 to 16 psi. and about another 3 to 4 G.

No disdain whatsoever brother!!! I just think it's great that you can get that much power out of just a couple engine mods for half the price. If the money would flow like the blood in my body, I would probably have an SC myself.....on top of a HHP Tune!!! LOL It nice to compare an engine to the old days when SC's weren't so prevalent, just raw power!!!

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
Its not that mush of a price difference! The stage 2 and supercharger is about the smae price installed $7,500.00. But like I said with the supercharger you should forge the bottom end so that you can get the most out of it! And most people don't. IMO if that is the case go with a stage 2R, the super charger misght get more power in the dyno but its not going to beat a stage 2r on the track IMO.
My plan is in a couple of years to forge the bottom end and supercharge the car I feel this should put me in the 650HP range.
