Wow - based on that , I guess I should reconsider my plans of popping in a SC. Just curious - why the Super Charger disdain?
no disdain...just giving claude props. lol if had the $'s to spend i would also do the sc plus forge bottom end. maybe on my next ride since i put over 80k miles on mine. not ideal for sc with high miles. saving up for possible stage 2 upgrade later in year.

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
Hmmm - after talking to HHP and one or two others I was led to believe that if you ran the SC at 6 psi and had the right tune, my 5.7 even with it's weak Mexican bottom end would be fine - Is that not correct?
I also got the impression that if I were going to go the NA route, I'd be better off replacing the 5.7 with a 6.1, rather than attempting to mod the 5.7, in which case (at least for me) the cost goes through the roof.
So - with the SC, I'd be gaining the HP, without hurting the bottom end, plus I can get a warranty since my Chrysler warranty would be DOA.
Am I off base here?

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
That is correct and what I said in my post above you can max out a sc without a forged bottom end at 5 to 6 psi which should give you between 100 to 125 additional HP if the tune is a good one. As far as warrenty a SC warrenty is on the SC itself not the motor (block) in the car. As far as the 5.7 replacement with a 6.1 you have to figure out which direction you want to go with your car. To me if you love your car and want to keep it and also make it a sleeper you can get a 6.1 block these day forged and even stroked for less that $5000 of course not installed. Then you also have to do the cam , heads etc so the cost can go well over into the 12 to 14G area. Now if you are not real happy with your car and want to upgrade I would go with a SRT8 enjoy it get use to the power lol. And then go withthe stage 2 or SC? As I said I picked the Stage 2 Racing set up as I plan on doing a SC in the future so all I will have to do is frge the block put in a different cam and SC I figure the cost areound the 8G areaand I am done with a hopeful 800 HP car. there is of course the rear and trans that I will also have to do lol. Problems when you go over the 500 hp range lol.

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
LOL - I want as much HP as I can get for as little $ as I can spend.....
Also - some SC manufacturers are offering w3 yr./ 36k powertrain warranties fro an additional charge , haven't researched the fine print yet, but seen them for Magnuson and Vortech units.

Im with you there.....that's the real balance...otheriwse i'd do like claude said, get a srt8 and then all out and have a monster of ride....but not in my budget so i'm enjoying the 5.7 with mods and tune and hoping for other mods to get me to at least srt8 type of hp, i.e. stage 2 hhp package.

Re: HHP Stage 2 Install !
If you want SRT8 HP all you have to do is a cam and springs. The problem is that the labor to do the springs would be the same to buy a set of heads. Then you will have to figure out if you want to do stage 1 or stage 2 heads lol.
