The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
To all that read this, the PA Modern Mopar Group is not dead, it just looks that way since no one seems to want to post lately. We go through a time period every year where everyone seem to go into hibernation and someone needs to wake everyone up. I will be sending out an email asking the existing members to try to be more active on the forum so new members will have a opportunity to interact and get to know us.
For anyone who doesn't know our group history please take a moment and read on. In a effort to answer the question, which was asked in another thread late Jan. "Are we still a club" I posted some information there. This information should help explain how our group operates and why. This is not saying we can't do a better job at being more active as a group and on the forum, we certainly can and should. Are we still a club?
We'll be posting some up coming events in our events sections so please stop back often to see any updates. If anyone has any questions please PM me or post away, I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone!

Hi Bill
Glad to see your still here, I check this forum every day to see if someone has posted anything. Chas has moved to the Dakota forum but you probably know that already. I hope your eyes are getting better.

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Thanks Charlie, I've always been here just couldn't communicate on the forum as I was doing last year. As I mentioned in another post I'm going to do everything possible to be on the forum and support the group in every way I can. This is a shame that Chas felt he needed to abandon our group and not partake in any activity at all. I still consider Chas as a good friend but I don't know if he is willing to come back to this forum, its been many months since his last post. Time will tell.moddog wrote:Hi Bill

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Please keep focused on the "club"! Do not speak for anyone like Chas! He has a leadership position with the Dakota club that takes his time this year. He has never said he was done with this "club" nor has he said he would not partake in any activities! He has no problems speaking for himself and if he felt the way you claim he would post his issues if he had them.
Also there was a time when we had club officers. Not to go down a long history as there is no need for it. But no one would step up when I as the only President of the club needed help. I will always be a member of this club but as life is at times there are other things in life that take 1st place. Your health issues, Chad's work and other car club roles and my family. I will of course when able to, show up for "club" events! Carlisle is one, and M&G's that involve the family like in the past.

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Sorry Claude. You might not have seen a post Chas left on the forum back in Jan., which I just recently removed due to its content. In this post Chas did state he was pretty busy with his new role in the Dakota Club, which is a great thing for him, but in the same post he basically said he was done with the PAMMG forum and has moved on, its been many months since his last post. However he did wish us good luck and for us to keep in touch. We certainly will miss seeing him on the forum and up coming shows this year, maybe he'll have a change of heart and meet up with us. We all will especially miss Chas's technical skills, which helped us all with our car mods and troubles we may have with our Mopars.claude9039u wrote:Please keep focused on the "club"! Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Bill I will admit I am bias, but I would if Chas said they same about you. If you remember last year was a bad year for Chas let me remind you. He lost his Nephew, his Cousin and his dog last summer! How could he be expected to post on the forum let alone do car shows? He cut the tip off of his finger, pulled a rib and missed 2 months of work in June/July with limited pay. I am sure just like anyone he was hurting for cash. And then there is the issue's he has with his feet which I believe he goes to therapy twice a week. All that and he opened his house to the club. He went to two events HHP's open house with me and Chuck and as far as Carlisle. He saw me, chuck, trey and Paul you just happened to not be there.
In the end he is an officer in a very active club so as I said that takes up a lot of his limited time as we all have. This club since I step down as President has been without a dedicated officer. So this club is what it is until someone takes on the active role of leadership. Since you are doing better and being active I would suggest that you take on that role. Then things might change.
Oh by the way chuck has sold his Bee so I do not believe that he is going to be active as he has a truck now. So someone better start planning for.

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Claude, I'm aware of all the issues Chas went through last year. Nothing was ever felt or said about Chas's involvement with the group or the forum last year, all of us in the club understood and were supportive as much as we could be. What I'm referring to in my post above started this January, a few months ago. I'm only repeating what Chas wrote that he was done with the PAMMG forum and has moved on. it has been 3 months since his last post on this forum and Chas posts daily on the Dakota forum because that's important to him, again these are not my words, I'm repeating what Chas wrote. So this pretty much verifies what he said about moving on. There's no ill feelings here just stating the written facts and commenting that we'll all miss Chas on the forum and most likely at any of the PAMMG planned shows this year.
There's been a lot more officers then just you that has stepped down from this club. You, Chas, Ryan and NJ Dave started this club 5 years ago and asked me to become an officer 4 years ago to help, which I did and have been supporting the group ever since. Heck I'm the one who had the insight to build the new forum we enjoy today way before our old forum's demise by the hand of numb nuts D-bag Dave. All four of you couldn't get the club off the ground, how do you expect me to do it on my own? Sure I'm more active on the forum because I'm taking the initiative to get a few things going for the group this year. We're going to need more then me to even start thinking about building a full blown club. Lets just keep having fun the way we have been for the last few years and if the opportunity arises to start a true club we can visit that possibility then.
Yeah I heard about Chuck's Bee, I talked to Chuck last week before he did it. Chuck created a new thread in the forum about his Bee trade in, I posted my condolences there.

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Sorry to butt in on this thread, being the new guy i hope i don't wrinkle any ones feathers, I don't know Chas (saw some of his post, don't see him a a loss though) didnt know any of the founding officers, i don't know if the forum ever grew into a car club or not, or how much damage past members have done. I guess people will come and go, just like their cars, some say their goodbyes, some give you the finger.
I belong to the LX forums and custommagnums forum, both are very active and informative, but i am here for more then that, and that of course is to connect with local people, being from the Harrisburg area i don't know how effective i can be with attending meetings,. I have broadcast this forum on other forums and they come back to me and say their is no activity, :-(
Bill (series5) I think you are doing a great job, the website/forum is running great, you are encouraging us to meet at other events, I think your doing everything possible at this point.
Anyways, i believe we just need more involvment on the forum, we need more pics posted, everyone loves pics regardless of what its about, if i'm going to post anything on another forum, i will post it here also. Bill I would love to see more pics of your Challenger and the same goes with your ride Claude and everyone else reading this.
Promote, promote and promote this forum on all other forums and i guess the ultimate goal is a club and/or car show called "PA Modern Mopars" Proudly Presents.
Sorry to be long winded.
Mike

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
The group has a Facebook page!!!!!!!! didn't see it mentioned on the forum.
Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Thank you Mike for your feedback. I'm happy to do what I can to support the forum and group. You are certainly not butting in, glad to hear your opinion. The history of the Mopar group is long and twisted and it would take four pages of text to try to explain what we were and how we evolved to what and where we are today so I won't even try to explain it all here. It's something that would be easier to explain in person, which I'll do when we have a chance to meet.
Mike, you are absolutely correct that we need more members to be active on the forum and take the initiative to come to some of the shows and meets that are planned. You are one of our members that is taking the time to come on the forum and generate some activity, which is greatly appreciated. We don't have a lot of M & Gs because it seems to be difficult to get enough members to come to one meeting place, we are very spread out as a group. During the year we try to use car shows as M & Gs since it's more appealing to the group and we can get our Mopars together to show off some of the mods we've done since the last get together.
Mike, keep telling the other forum members out there that yeah they're right, there's not a lot going on in the PAMMG forum right now and that we could use their help in spurring some new activity. Tell them don't be shy, just come and start posting what ever they want to. It would be cool to see a new bunch of Mopar enthusiast come to the forum and start something new, a fresh perspective. A lot of our older members either have lost interest or are burned out from years of being involved in the car scene.
Mike, you're spot on here, posts with pictures are always more attractive for viewing and draw more attention and activity. I will certainly post some more pics of my Hurst Challenger, I don't mind talking about this car, ask anyone who has heard my Hurst sermon and walked away bleeding from the ears, lol. On the original Mopar group forum I posted a slew of pictures there but they were lost when the forum was shut down.
I guess what it will take to have a full blown car club is we need enough members willing to take on the challenge of building the necessary club structure and stick with it until it is fully developed. Once developed it will take additional member's help to keep it going and hopefully expanding.
As a group we have attempted to do this a few times but we never get to the fully developed stage before some issue or situation stops the progress and we fall back to where we were.
As I mentioned we shouldn't get caught up trying to start something we can't finish until we have the right combination of members in place to support the effort.
All we can do right now is what Mike said, just keep promoting what we are and what we are about and some day we might just find the people we need to take the club to the next level. For now let's keep our focus on having fun with what we have and what we can do because if your not having fun doing what your doing then you should do something else.
I'm not much of a fan of social media, it's more of a young person's domain but it's a great place to promote the PAMMG and draw new members to our club and forum. I believe Tim (Sarge) started the PAMMG face book page. I encourage all that wish to be active on the club face book page to do so, it can't hurt. Tim is one of our members that does take the initiative to promote the club. The matter of fact Tim started the PAMMG car show three years ago and does a lot of work to prepare for this show each year. Thanks as always Tim!
So Mike you think your posts are long winded, hah hah hah, you are a babe in the woods compared to my posts!!, lol. Just kidding, I really enjoy reading posts that are more then one line of meaningless text. Thank you for your continued effort with this group, we just need 10 more members like you and we'll have something!!

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
PA Modern Mopar's FOURTH annual fall car show sometime in October. I need help in getting sponsors and volunteers again. Going to start planning this now as we're only about 6 months out. Might seem like a while but like anyone that's ever hosted a car show knows it takes a lot of effort. More to come on this soon.
Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
That sounds great, i have never been part of of the group sponsering a car show, if i can help help out here in central Pa let me know

Glad to hear from you again Marko. It's been good that you have been popping in and out of the forum to see what's been going on. Post when you can every bit helps to make the forum look more active. Will you be hooking up with John(Sinster) for the racing events? It would be cool to have one of the race attendees post some info about the races and results, we all like hearing about racing. See if you can get a hold of John and let him know the PAMMG is alive and well and we would love to hear from him. Tell him we all said Hi.345PAHemi wrote:sorry bill & company i also havent been active in posting, but like charlie i've been poppin in once a week at least...

As always I will be there for the 4th annual PAMMG car show, Like your saying Tim lets get started with the planning now, that will certainly help. We should start by getting flyers made and send the printable file to all helping members so they can print flyers and start handing them out at car show events.

Re: The PA Modern Mopar Group Is Not Dead!!!
Hi everyone. I'm new to the club, and trying to find information on The Lehigh Valley and Pocono chapters because I would like to attend a couple of Cruise in events. There was one scheduled for Aug. 13 for the Lehigh Club at Newburg Deli on Wm. Penn Highway in Easton. When I arrived there, I didn't see anyone else so I went inside to get something to eat. The owner told me cruise night was a week ago on Aug.6. I had the flyer That I picked up in Carlisle when I was there a few weeks back. Then I decided to go to Spankey's Grill to go in Bartonville on Route 611. Since I was waiting for my acceptance into the forum, I had no way to ask anyone if the meet was still planned- so I called Spanky's to verify if was indeed being held on Aug.20. The owner told me that the event had been cancelled. Like I stated earlier I'm new an was wondering just what to expect from these "events"? Can someone give me a hint, please?
Thanks,
Jeff
Thanks,
Jeff
