Broken Rear Axles :(
So I put my car on a lift at a friend's shop and find out what I feared was true: the boots on my rear axles are blown and leaking grease. Not too bad but I don't think it's safe to drive. I took it to Gary Barbera's (Dodge Dealer in NE Philly) to have it fixed, thinking it was covered under the UNLIMITED DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. They wouldn't cover it because the car is lowered. I argued with them and they wouldn't budge. I had three mechanics tell me the suspension has nothing to do with the axles being damaged. Now I have to go to another dealer or pay out of pocket (over $1000 for parts and labor). Parts alone are almost $700. Furious is an under statement.

Well that's a bummer. If you have to put new ones in check into getting stronger axles, then you don't to worry so much doing the big burn outs.

Time for a 3.06 or 3.73 getrag with stronger axles (like bill said)

The rear diff is fine, just the axle boots that are blown. In my opinion and the opinion of several others, the suspension had nothing to do with it. I haven't done burn outs since I put the new rims and system in the car. I'm taking it to another dealer in the next few weeks to see what they say. New factory axles are $340 a piece! Not including labor.
Re: Broken Rear Axles :(
That is how the dealers r everything they repair because it is a mopar part some times mopar will get nosey and want to know why it was replaced if the dealer tells them it was lowered they will always say it isn't covered that is why when you modify your car in anyway any the dealer see that you r fighting a losing battle so should find a good mechanic . I ran in to this problem with my PCM with my charger Hondru would not cover it even though it wasn't my fault so if you can try to avoid the dealer and find a good mechanic with all the mods u have in there eyes you don't have a warranty anymore and if you can pay for the mods u can pay high dealer prices.

I'm thinking about going with after market axles and having a mechanic I know install them. Any suggestions on brand?
